Navigating the ADHD Couple's Journey: Insights and Support for Non-ADHD Partners



Welcome to my Blog. My journey as an non-ADHD spouse in a ADHD relationship began two years into our marriage when a college counselor suggested that my husband get assessed for dyslexia. Surprisingly, the assessment revealed that he actually had ADHD. Initially, I assumed that my husband could handle it on his own with the help of a good therapist. However, as time passed, I realized that his ADHD symptoms, including forgetfulness, depression, and anxiety, were impacting our marriage. It became evident that this was not solely his problem but ours, and I decided to take matters into my own hands. This led me to face challenges while seeking information and understanding about ADHD, especially as a non-professional.


The Struggle for Information:


Though there is an abundance of information available about ADHD, sifting through it to find what was relevant and useful to our situation proved to be a time-consuming task. With limited time to read, I had to dedicate significant efforts to educate myself about the condition. However, as a non-professional, connecting the dots between my husband's behaviors and his ADHD symptoms was not always easy, leading to occasional misinterpretations. This lack of clarity affected our love, trust, and weakened my determination to overcome ADHD alongside him.


The Birth of this Blog:

To support other non-ADHD partners and spouses who might follow a similar path, I decided to create this blog. My goal is to share the knowledge I've gained to spare them from spending hours searching the internet, seminars, webinars and support groups for relevant information on their own ADHD couples journey. In this blog, I aim to offer my insights and experiences, helping others connect the dots more efficiently and empowering them to stay strong throughout their own ADHD couples journey.
