ADHD Moms and The Challenges They Face

Being a woman isn’t easy, and being a mom can feel even harder. I’ve talked with quite a few ADHD moms who are simply looking for help and support because they feel ashamed that they can’t do as much as other moms seem to. At the same time, their partners may genuinely be trying to help but become frustrated because they don’t fully understand how demanding it can be to orchestrate your own life, a baby, and a household when executive function challenges are part of the equation. There can be a lot more happening beneath the surface than either partner realizes.

That’s why I was so excited to welcome Anita Robertson, LCSW, back to Insights from the Trenches. Anita has a new book, Being a Mom with ADHD, and in this episode, we talk about some of the unique challenges ADHD moms face and, just as importantly, how to create a more affirming and supportive environment where both the ADHD mom and the family can thrive. ❤️

The new book launches on Oct 6 and you can preorder her book here.
